Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

180g flour (spelt is best, but wheat will do nicely, too)

100g peanut butter (creamy, not crunchy)

50g butter

100g sugar

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

100g chocolate chips

 

Mix butter, peanut butter and sugar, add the egg, then the chocolate. Mix baking soda and flour and add it to the rest of the batter. The result will be both crumbly and sticky, but that’s normal. Grab small heaps and press them into something cookie-shaped. On second thought, make that big heaps. The bigger the better. They’ll grow a bit when baking, so leave some space between the cookies on the baking tray. Bake at 160°C for 15 to 20 minutes. Or 25, depending on the size. If the color reminds you of honey, the cookies are done. Wait a bit before eating, or the chocolate will burn your tongue. Yes, waiting is hard when the entire house smells of chocolate and peanuts. Sorry ’bout that.
